A fusion between humans and animals
At the heart of Rachel Convers's latest pictorial creation for Ibride is a subtle interplay between human and animal, a disturbing fusion that reveals itself to those who look closely. At first glance, we are struck by the depiction of a woman tenderly embracing an animal, like a protective guardian. But beneath this initial flash of perception lies an astonishing graphic interplay.
Representation of the totem animal
In this enigmatic work, each woman presents not only her physical being, but also her totem animal, highlighting the close relationship that unites them. The totem animal embodies a spiritual essence, a protective force that reveals our innermost nature. Through her artistic talent and mastery of the graphic game, Rachel Convers invites us to explore the depths of our being, to reveal the subtle links that unite us with our totem animal, to embrace our true essence.

Mural tray - 63 x 45 cm - Design Rachel & Benoît Convers - High Pressure Laminate - Made in France
Sometimes serving trays, sometimes masterpieces, the Galerie de Portraits elegantly play a double game. Each of the characters imagined by designer Rachel Convers has its own story to tell. Her inspiration comes from the fables of Jean de la Fontaine, Mozart, the Château de Versailles and, more generally, the classical arts. For the designer, this collection is the foundation of great ideas about the place of animals in relation to man. It is packed with female characters, allowing the artist to slip in strong messages.
The Des Âmes Sœurs trays feature two figures, Ylva and Paloma. Each woman represents her physical being, as well as her totem animal, highlighting the close relationship that unites them. They are loving, maternal figures, embracing their almost intangible animal in their arms.
Ylva is represented by the silhouette of a wolf that forms her body. Paloma, on the other hand, is represented by the silhouette of a peacock.
In addition to their unique graphics, these trays are also practical. Supplied with a wall hook, they offer versatility of use, whether as wall decoration or functional support. They offer a real presence in interiors, with which you end up creating a bond and attachment with the character.
Their ogive shape refers to an alcove found in architecture.
